At the age of 4, Laine was adopted with her 2 brothers. She was raised in an Italian family with a total of 5 older brothers. She married young into the military. Sweets for Him, brings her real life to print with law enforcement as a lead role. Her Italian traditions and values are present throughout her debut book.
